Accounts with large number of servers began to experience performance issues after we introduced a feature that shows the server's Operating System in the API and dashboard.
We've released an update that not only fixes this problem, but improves the performance of server listing for everyone.
Starting today all new servers created with Maxihost will come with 20TB of free outbound transfer, four times more than before. Current servers will be updated to reflect the upgraded traffic in the coming weeks.
/devices now returns the operating system
/devices/:id now returns the operating system
It’s good to know that your Bare Metal is being deployed instantly after you requested it, but it’s much better when you know what’s happening during that process. Starting today, you can!
The global search now index servers in real-time. When you deploy a new server or edit its information, these changes will be available in the search bar instantly.
This fixes issues where customers couldn't search for servers that were recently updated.
We've created a new resource so you can do power management via the API. Through the endpoint `/devices/:id/actions` you can turn on, off, and power cycle a server.
We've upgraded the Type 3 server to the brand new Intel E-2176G processor. This processor has a higher clock than its predecessor (3.7GHz vs 2.4GHz), while still maintaining the same number of cores. That's a lot more power for your workloads. In addition to this, we've reduced the price by 29%. Deploy a Type 3
In case you hadn't noticed, we now offer Ubuntu 18.04 on all server types. Have an idea for an OS we still don't have? Let us know.
The option for turning on, off and rebooting servers has been moved to the Overview tab. Now you have faster access to that option when you want to do a simple reboot.
Today we're launching a new design for Maxihost. A project that re-built a large part of the codebase in an effort to simplify the day-to-day management of your servers.
The new design not only updates colors but also allows for a better experience with changes to navigation and content placement.
Here are the most important changes:
20% speed improvement across the board
Cleaner and lighter layout
Navigation changed to the side, allow for more options to be shown
Submenu IP Addresses has been moved to its own menu and is now called Networking
The Settings menu is now called Account in order to provide better context of the preferences available in that option.
Now when you access Control you'll see if there are any incidents or scheduled maintenances open on Status.
You can hide these notifications, and they'll only be shown again when they're updated.
Now you have a specific page to view the IPs added to your account. It's now easier to understand the IP addresses on your different devices.
Automatic grouping of IPs per device
Request new IPs quickly
If you have an Instant Server (Type 1 to Type 4), you're now able to reinstall the Operating System through Control. You no longer have to contact us and can do it all by yourself in just a few clicks.
The Invoices menu item has been moved to Billing under the Settings menu. This helps you access all your settings in one place.
We’ve developed a completely new server creation screen, allowing you to deploy a new Bare Metal instance with the settings you choose in 15 minutes.
This makes it easier and faster for you to scale your IT infrastructure.
You can now add credits to your account, making it available to use when you need it.
When using credits, you can create servers instantly without having to wait for bank clearing.
Your opinion is very important to us so we’ve created a tool where you can provide feedback directly from the dashboard.
With it you can evaluate your experience with Control and share your thoughts on how we can make it better.
To help you better make sense of your infrastructure, now you can edit the name of your services, organizing it in a way that makes more sense to your workflow.
We've also normalized your bandwidth statistics to Mbps (instead of Kbps) and TB (instead of GB).
As we continue to increase bandwidth while reducing costs, this will help you get a better understanding of how much you've used against your quota.
